Exploring Our Home Place

“You can’t know who you are until you know
where you are.”

                                                                — Wendell Berry

  • We are part of an interdependent, living organism we call planet Earth;
  • living in a city, it is easy to feel separated from the natural world that is our home and on which we depend;
  • but the city is in nature too.

Sense of Place Tours are designed to help us pull back our view of the city and see it situated in the natural world. We are able to get reacquainted with our bioregion, exploring our surroundings and mapping our “home.”

Join us! All tours:

  • are FREE and open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis
  • include transportation to and from tour sites
  • feature a free locavore lunch

COVID PRECAUTIONS For your own safety and the safety of others, we ask that all participants:

  • Be vaccinated/boosted, or have a recent negative test result
  • Wear a mask and practice social distancing when asked to do so
  • Stay home if you are feeling ill or have a fever
